We do believe that Biscogniauxia capnodes var. capnodes (Berk.) Y.M. Ju & J.D. Rogers is of lest concern (LC) regarding threat of extinction.
The growing effort in the study of fungi, considering their diversity and potential, has historically neglected ascomycetes to the detriment of basidiomycetes, especially in the Tropics.
