Justification

Cantharellus roseolus is a poorly known species, reported only from Épagny, France. There is no readily available specimen of this species, and further work is urgently needed regarding this taxon’s status. Given the high levels of uncertainty surrounding this species it is assessed as Data Deficient.

It appears as if there is no type specimen of this species (Eyssartier and Buyck 2000), with the original collection record by drawing. This collection took place in forest in Épagny, France (see Eyssartier and Buyck 2000).
