Phlebia ludoviciana is easily recognized due to the phlebioid to membranous basidiomata, hyphal system monomitic, two types of cystidia, cylindrical to narrowly obclavate or ventricose, thick-walled, smooth to encrusted, with basal clamps. The basidia are clavate and basidiospores ellipsoid, hyaline, smooth (Nakasone et al 1982).
