Why suggested for a Global Red List Assessment?

The species is confined to old-growth conifer forests in the boreal zone. It is extremely rare in Europe, known from a small area in northern Finland, extinct in Sweden, and from two localities in Norway. It is more common in western North America, and also known from Asia (Russia) - details on its ecology and occurrence outside Europe should be clarified.
