This is a project aiming to have at least 100 species predominantly distributed in Europe assessed and officially red-listed by IUCN by the end of 2021. The success will depend on that many mycologists will contribute with information and be in charge of the assessments. This initiative is supported by IUCN and facilitated by Anders Dahlberg and James Westrip. The assessments of the species will be finalized during virtual workshops with +15 invited mycologists and staff from IUCN.

Currently 104 species proposals needs more attention and/or data before they can be assessed. Please read the Assessment Notes. Please feel free to comment and add data where missing:
  1. include a motivation of why the species is proposed for evaluation,
  2. describe the species geographic range and provide information about the population status within the range,
  3. describe the population size and trends at the global scale. Any change of potential habitats and substrate over time (declined? stable?). Refer to statistics if possible.
  4. Describe ecology and habitat
  5. Elaborate on threats. The extent and reliability of the documentation is crucial for the evaluation.
  6. Try to arrange a photo for each species to be uploaded.
