The Global Fungal Red List Initiative is organizing the workshop with funding from the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Foundation (https://www.speciesconservation.org/) and Oak Springs Garden Foundation (https://www.osgf.org/). The goal for the workshop is to assess the global conservation status (red list assessment) of at least 120 Agaricomycetes for publication in the 2018 update of the IUCN Red List.
Every participant will come prepared to assess at least 10 species of which at least 5 will potentially be listed under one of the threat categories (VU – CR).
As part of this process, the required data for these species need to be as complete and accurate as possibly before the workshop. We encourage all who have information to contribute to the species pages. Note that the species pages on the website operates as wiki-pages so that any person can comment and add data for the fields that cover distribution, ecology, threats and so forth. Try to arrange a photo for each species to be uploaded.
The pre-assessments will be discussed and finalized at the workshop.
Although poorly known, this relatively recently described species appears to be a very threaten...
Currently 85 species are under evaluation by authorized editors and assessors.
Please note that only species subject to an active evaluation and assessment process should be placed here.
If the activity is low for a longer period of time, the assessor or the administrator should set the status to "Pending".
